When your carpets need a thorough clean
Whilst carpets are a great investment into your home, there is no denying that they are susceptible to a lot of wear and tear. Spilt drinks, muddy shoes, pet hair, food crumbs, you name it, it’s likely your carpet has seen it. Leaving food particles and other bacteria to grow within the fibres of your carpet is inviting a range of health hazards into your home.
Whilst we encourage vacuuming your carpets at least twice a week, vacuuming will not remove all the bacteria and pollutants caught within the fabric. At WHIZZ our carpet cleaning services include both dry cleaning and steam cleaning to ensure the best stain treatment and fabric protection.
What does it include?
Firstly, we vacuum the carpet/rug to remove any debris caught in the fabric. Then any areas requiring pre-treatment (such as tough stains) are identified and attended to. We then use either dry carpet or steam carpet cleaning. This is determined based on the delicacy of the fabric, toughness of the stains and your own preferences.
Cleaning your carpet has a number of benefits both aesthetic and health related
- Restores colour in tired carpets
- Prevents growth of mould spores and other bacteria
- Deodorises your carpet and can have a direct impact on air quality
- Removes stains brings life back to high traffic carpet areas
Steam Carpet Cleaning
Steam carpet cleaning is also known as the hot water extraction method. It is proven to be the most effective method for removing deeply ingrained stains. Unlike dry carpet cleaning this method requires 2-4 hours drying time depending on your fabric type.
Instead of a powdered detergent, steam carpet cleaning infuses hot water into the carpet and then extracts it together with bacteria and pollutants. Steam carpet cleaning is offered as an extra for our standard home cleaning service and is included within our end of lease service.
Dry Carpet Cleaning
Dry carpet cleaning systems are also commonly referred to as Very Low Moisture (VLM) systems. This method is perfect for delicate fabrics as no water is used and your rug/carpet is not susceptible to the risk of shrinking.
A dry carpet cleaning system resembles a floor buffer and uses a similar rotational head to scrub a powdered detergent into the surface of your carpet/rug/upholstery. The bonnet of the system then extracts the detergent along with dirt and/or odour using a vacuum.
